Every year, 2.4 million immigrants arrive in the U.S., many with school-aged children. In King County, where immigrants make up 25% of the population, students face challenges like learning English, adapting to a new culture, and keeping up in school. Around 9.6% of public school students nationally are English Language Learners (ELLs), a trend reflected in King County, where resources often fall short.
We aim to raise awareness regarding the struggles of the newly admitted immigrant students in King County. We aim to highlight the different educational opportunities available for these students from quest for young students to the difference between various classes such as APs and Honors, emphasizing each and different parts of school, allowing them to familiarize and understand the way of school.
